Abstract :
The purpose of the study is to identify the distinctive properties of terms in fixed language structures, as well as within the framework of term field theory. The subject of the study is the term as a linguistic unit in its various aspects. At the end of the article, the thesis is made that a term is a special linguistic unit, which consists in a systemic relationship with other linguistic units of the corresponding special language of similar status, used to accurately name and express a special object, concept, phenomenon or type of activity. In addition, the terminological field is the linguistic environment of the existence of the term. In it, it realizes all its characteristics and carries out its main function of naming a special concept.
